Fall is Here!

I am so excited for the cool weather. When Brett and I woke up this morning it was 45 degrees!!! We actually put on a fleece and sat on our porch to drink our coffee. As Rachael Zoe would say--it was Ah-Mazing!!!
I guess being in our "new" house and my strong prego nesting instinct has really inspired me to get our home "fall ready" It has been so fun. I just love coming home to fall decor!!
Here is our mantel in the family room. We recently got this mirror and then I found these tall vases to put some fun seasonal decor in. I kind of went with a brown/orange/dark green color combo for my fall stuff.

new fall pillows...got a great deal on them at crate and barrell...they are velvet and feel so yummy. I also have some dark green ones coming.Here is what I did to our dining room table. I love the deer antlers....kinda funky...



We also recently purchased these chairs for our "keeping area" right off the kitchen. Perfect place to drink coffee and read the paper. Brett picked out the chairs and I think they look great. Don't worry....we have scotch-guarded them to the max. With 3 plus kids...stuff happens...and it is just stuff! We got them at Ballard Outlet in Atlanta for such an Ah-Mazing deal....you wouldn't even believe :)
Here is closer picture of the chairs. We still need something on either side of them. I was thinking a great looking tall plant in a cool planter...?
This past Saturday, Brett and I went to Atlanta to hear Dave Ramsey Live. We have taken his class before at our church and try to follow most of his financial advice. As he claims, it has definitely brought us tons of "financial peace". We would recommend him to anyone!
Here he was at the event...It was great to go to for continued motivation!
Last week I had the kids (and Emma Grace's friend) over for dinner and homework. It was fun. Kate and I made some yummy pumpkin cupcakes and we all sat down to a great dinner - good times! I love this bunch!!

And this is our sweet pup...caught in the act...shameless licking an empty pizza box to death!! She has no shame....but is just so darn funny!!

    Pumpkin pupcakes? Yum. I really like the new chairs for that morning relaxing cup of coffee. I hope that Scotchguard lives up to its reputation for those white or off-white chairs. See you on Nov. 11th.

Meet Caroline Brooke Scullen!

Wow...so much to say...so many pictures to show.... Caroline Brooke Scullen arrived on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 5:33pm. She was just perfect. We came home from the hospital on Wednesday and needless to say....the days have been a bit of a blur ever since! :) Unfortunately, both Brett and I have been really sick with sinus/chest cold nastiness. So, in addition to being a bit sleep deprived we also are totally under the weather...a bummer! I am trying to suffer through it without taking any of the "strong stuff" for meds... Anyways....things are getting better everyday! She is just so great and I know couldn't imagine our family without her. All 3 of the kids are so great with her...I think she never leaves one of her siblings arms... She weighed 7 lb 1 oz at birth and we left the hospital at 6 lb 10 oz. We went back for a weigh in yesterday and she know weighs 6 lb 5 oz. The doctors are now concerned that she has lost a little too much. I have been struggling...

The Scullen's Summer

Well....the Scullen's have been busy. It is quite obvious since I haven't posted since...well...early May. Yikes. The summer has come and gone and school is back. We have had an exciting summer to say the least. Get ready for picture overload...I am going to try and catch us up...and these are just the highlights! Ha! Caroline and I kicked the summer off with the annual "Mother - Daughter" Trip in May.  It was fantastic.  Long gone are the days of  no babies, sleeping in, 3 cups of coffee, lots of late nights with yummy wine...No...this trip has evolved.  It is different, but just as refreshing.  I now come home from this trip utterly exhausted, but with my heart smiling, and my spirit revived!  I need my second moms and my best friends.  One year passes way too slow. This year we rented a home in Galveston, TX.  It was gorgeous.  Yup...could have moved in.  Loved it all. Daily walks by the "Grammies" and kiddos B.L.I.S.S...

One Big Update!

Since it has been so long since I posted.... I thought I would do one big update on each member of the Scullen family to see what we have been up to! Here it goes - I am so proud of Brett - he has started running as of a few months ago and he has now run in 2 races. He is an official "runner". Here he is in his first 5K with his buddy Jay. He did great. Brett and I have been running at least 3x/week. I have had a slow transition back into being a runner. It is very humbling to say the least. I am feeling stronger now and just keep telling myself this is a slow process. Caroline, myself, and the BOB jogging stroller have had a lot of time together especially hoofing it up our massive hills in the area. Ha! I figured I didn't run while pregnant and just post baby which totals up to 7 months. Yikes! I am much happier when I have the time to run....That is the hardest part. Between working, mom duties, wife duties little is left over, but I am learning when to sn...
