Our Weekend

What a fun weekend!  The older 3 are staying with their mom this weekend, and since EG had a cross country meet in Birmingham on Saturday, Brett and I decided to pack up and go stay the weekend with our dear friends The Kings.  You see....sad for us, good for them...a great job opportunity came up for Jeremy in Birmingham this summer.  And so, about 3 weeks ago they moved up there leaving us with a sad heart!  We cannot be more thrilled for them though - Claire is in a GREAT new school, Jeremy is happy at his new position, and Faith loves their new house and the much better shopping.  Ha!  I didn't even take pictures of their new house.  Crazy!!  It is wonderful!  Their backyard looks out onto beautiful trees, a lake, and great views of the hills in Birmingham.  Saturday morning, we got up and our amazing husbands took Caroline and Claire for the day and Faith and I got to run around shopping.  Such bliss!  Of course, the time passed way to quickly and we didn't nearly get enough done, but there is always next time.  We had to rush off to EG's cross country meet!

Even though they ran at 4pm (still hot), she did great and finished really strong at the end!

We were by the playground about to leave and I looked over and Caroline had crawled up into a stranger's stroller.  I guess she was ready to go!?!  And, she was none too happy when I took her out of there and put her in ours.  I guess she liked that version better.  Too funny!

And to end the weekend on a great note...we just snagged a babysitter and are going on a date tonight!!  So excited!

    I am so happy to read your posts. Claire and Caroline look so cute together in their Auburn matching outfits. Something about Auburn has to be beautiful this season!!!

Meet Caroline Brooke Scullen!

Wow...so much to say...so many pictures to show.... Caroline Brooke Scullen arrived on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 5:33pm. She was just perfect. We came home from the hospital on Wednesday and needless to say....the days have been a bit of a blur ever since! :) Unfortunately, both Brett and I have been really sick with sinus/chest cold nastiness. So, in addition to being a bit sleep deprived we also are totally under the weather...a bummer! I am trying to suffer through it without taking any of the "strong stuff" for meds... Anyways....things are getting better everyday! She is just so great and I know couldn't imagine our family without her. All 3 of the kids are so great with her...I think she never leaves one of her siblings arms... She weighed 7 lb 1 oz at birth and we left the hospital at 6 lb 10 oz. We went back for a weigh in yesterday and she know weighs 6 lb 5 oz. The doctors are now concerned that she has lost a little too much. I have been struggling...

The Scullen's Summer

Well....the Scullen's have been busy. It is quite obvious since I haven't posted since...well...early May. Yikes. The summer has come and gone and school is back. We have had an exciting summer to say the least. Get ready for picture overload...I am going to try and catch us up...and these are just the highlights! Ha! Caroline and I kicked the summer off with the annual "Mother - Daughter" Trip in May.  It was fantastic.  Long gone are the days of  no babies, sleeping in, 3 cups of coffee, lots of late nights with yummy wine...No...this trip has evolved.  It is different, but just as refreshing.  I now come home from this trip utterly exhausted, but with my heart smiling, and my spirit revived!  I need my second moms and my best friends.  One year passes way too slow. This year we rented a home in Galveston, TX.  It was gorgeous.  Yup...could have moved in.  Loved it all. Daily walks by the "Grammies" and kiddos B.L.I.S.S...

One Big Update!

Since it has been so long since I posted.... I thought I would do one big update on each member of the Scullen family to see what we have been up to! Here it goes - I am so proud of Brett - he has started running as of a few months ago and he has now run in 2 races. He is an official "runner". Here he is in his first 5K with his buddy Jay. He did great. Brett and I have been running at least 3x/week. I have had a slow transition back into being a runner. It is very humbling to say the least. I am feeling stronger now and just keep telling myself this is a slow process. Caroline, myself, and the BOB jogging stroller have had a lot of time together especially hoofing it up our massive hills in the area. Ha! I figured I didn't run while pregnant and just post baby which totals up to 7 months. Yikes! I am much happier when I have the time to run....That is the hardest part. Between working, mom duties, wife duties little is left over, but I am learning when to sn...
