Family Favorite

When I married Brett about 1 1/2 years ago my cooking life changed dramatically!!! I went from cooking and preparing food for 1 (ME!!) to cooking for 5!!! Let me tell you....it is not as easy as you think! Lucky for me, none of the 3 kids are too picky and they all will try new foods. I am slowly getting better, but at first I would always underestimate the amount of food I need to make to feed 5. I would always just buy 1 of something (1 package of hamburger meat, 1 package of lettuce for salad....etc). Now we joke that we do the "Noah's Ark method of shopping". Two Of Everything! I am learning the tricks slowly.

With my pregnancy and the holidays, my weight for sure crept on, as did Brett's, a little for the kids, and even the dogs! ha! After the new year, our family has made some changes and everyone has lost even a few pounds! Awesome! We really "put the hammer down" on the foods that we eat. Healthy, Healthy, Healthy! We try to have a salad at almost every dinner and have taught the kids how to read food labels for nutrition content. All 3 of the kids have been running with either Brett or I at least 3 times/week. They can all run at least a mile no problem, and last night Christopher ran 2 miles without stopping! So proud of all of them! Emma Grace is even thinking about trying out for track next year. The kids are really starting to understand what it means to be active and healthy.
This is one of our family's easy go-to meals when time is tight!

Ground turkey breast burgers with 2% cheese on the "sandwich thins" buns with Alexia Seasoned sweet potato fries that you bake in the oven. So Yummy! We have tried the regular fries, but have all decided that the Chipotle seasoning rocks!
Here we are enjoying the delish dinner!

Here is Little Bit having some good awake time.
Here she is this morning while she trying to stay awake for tummy time on the Boppy....totally out!!! I think she is eventually going to be a tummy sleeper. She loves that position. But for now...on your back Little Bit!
