A Little Update and A Lot of Waiting....
Well first things first....I am officially 39 1/2 weeks and SO READY to have this baby!!!!! I go again to the doctor today, but last time I went I was 3cm dilated and still 80%....I mean come on baby!!! I am getting very anxious to meet him/her. My mom and I both are starting to lose our minds! Here is the last picture I could find that we took. I stomach feels like it is about to pop. My skin is so stretched it really is hurting now. I am putting all sorts of oils and lotions on it, but I am truthfully just really uncomfortable. I think the best solution is just to get this baby here. My doctor gave me an induction date of Monday Dec 27th unless this baby shows up in the meantime. He said that I was "ripe" for a great induction and lets just get this baby here!! :) I am off work this week-officially on "maternity leave"---it is great!
A Little Back-Up on what the Scullens have been up to:
My Dad and his friend Kathy came from Texas to visit us a couple of weeks ago. We all had a great visit. My Dad helped me put together some last minute baby items and helped me get super organized in the nursery. That weekend also happened to be when Auburn played in Atlanta for the SEC championship. Brett scored some great tickets so how could I say no....He met up with some friends to go to the game and just had a blast! Oh yeah...and Auburn won.....and they are playing in the National Championship in Arizona on January 10th....and Brett has the best wife ever because.... he got some awesome tickets to that game too...and his wife said he shouldn't miss the BIG game for anything and needs to go the game...even though we will have a brand new baby (with mom in town helping to let him off the hook)...and he is sooooo excited!!! More to come on that. Here are some pics from the SEC game. Brett has a t shirt that he has worn every time Auburn has played a game this season (and obviously won) so of course he is wearing that again and I am sure it will make it out to Arizona with him too. Don't worry I have washed it!
Our really good friends, Emmie and Dave Sellers, who went to the game with Brett.
Awesome seats!!!
"Get your hands up......."SEC CHAMPS!
The next night that Dad was here we went to Callaway Gardens in Georgia (about 30 min away). Callaway Gardens is a resort that does some great Christmas displays with lights and takes you on a trolley ride through their property to see them. It was great.....it was also about mid 20's for the temperature...we bundled up for sure...
Christopher promised me he was smiling for the picture!!!
Dad and Kathy- I think between the 7 of us we utilized every blanket, scarf, and gloves that I could come up with!!Probably the best tasting hot chocolate EVA....I think only because we were sooooo cold! We felt like we lived in Canada---not Alabama!
Before school let out, Kate and Christopher had a Christmas School Dance....wahoo! Brett and I came to check out the action. They had a DJ and everything.
Kate and her best friend, Anna Claire
Dad and Christopher:
On the last day of school, Emma Grace had 3 of her best friends over for a small present exchange and some Christmas cookie decorating. It was great!!! Here are some pics...I tried to stay out of their way for the most part and let Emma Grace "host" her party!
We had some yummy after school snacks to munch on...
Best idea ever...covered the dining room table with butcher paper so they could "go to town" on the cookie decorating and I had the easiest clean up! Perfect!
I think they enjoyed themselves...notice the flour on their faces!
And of course the inevitable frosting war.....which Sadie was most excited to help clean up!!!
So...unless this baby makes a Christmas appearance...it looks like we will be having a birthday party on the 27th!!!! Keep you posted!
