Running Our Race

This past weekend was great! The weather was perfect and we got some great stuff done around the house. On Friday night we let each of the kids have a friend over to spend the night. It was crazy, but a blast. We took them all out to eat and then to Redbox to pick out some movies. We kept laughing about the fact we had to take 2 cars to go out to eat...9 people! And--I do have the BEST husband in the world.......I got invited to go have a couple of hours with 2 great girlfriends of mine so I left my husband alone with 7 kids when we got back from dinner. Wow! When I got home the kids were all happy and the home was still standing. When we collapsed into bed late that night, we thought about that this is what it would be like if we had 7 kids. Yikes! So fun though. Saturday morning was Christopher's opening day for his Youth Baseball League. He has been pitching some lately and was the "closer" for their game. They won easily... like 15-0 (we lost count)! Chris...

Grammy Vay and Kate were the directors! The entire Scullen clan has been so busy these past couple of weeks. I have been working over 50 hours/week lately and Brett is in his "budget season" at work so he has been also burning the candle at both ends. In fact this is what we usually look like around 9pm each night... We got Kristin (our great nanny) to stay late one night recently and we were able to rally to head out for a much deserved date night. It was perfect. The weather cooperated and the wine was yummy. This past weekend we spent Saturday in Montgomery for a baseball tournament for Christopher. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate this time. Whew!!! I have a lot to catch up on! Last Wednesday, Brett and I took the kids out of school for a few days before spring break started and flew down to Corpus Christi TX to visit my parents. It was sooooo much fun! Brett and I feel pretty good that we were able to survive 2 flights each way with layovers with 4 kids....and we had fun! Here we are in the car (oh yeah...and we had to drive 2 hours to Birmingham where we were flying out of in the pouring rain)... Before we flew out we stopped to eat at Flip Burger....our family fav... At the airport....our Traveling Circus is coming to a town near you ...it was hilarious to watch us go through security. All the kids did great, even Caroline. I was a little worried about her ear pressures going up and coming down, but I tried to time them to feedings or a paci and she didn't even know the difference. After church, we took the doggies on a "shopping spree" at Petco...which in my mind is the equivalent of Saks Fifth Avenue...they act like me when I am in there. So Excited!!! Here is their loot- And here they are waiting for a treat. I bought this "jumparoo" from a friend of mine whose kids no longer needed it....and oh. my. word. Caroline LOVES it!!!! She will jump around in it until she is practically falling asleep sitting up. A miracle from heaven. Ha!!
