Catch Up Post

Whew!!! I have a lot to catch up on!

Last Wednesday, Brett and I took the kids out of school for a few days before spring break started and flew down to Corpus Christi TX to visit my parents. It was sooooo much fun! Brett and I feel pretty good that we were able to survive 2 flights each way with layovers with 4 kids....and we had fun!

Here we are in the car (oh yeah...and we had to drive 2 hours to Birmingham where we were flying out of in the pouring rain)...

Before we flew out we stopped to eat at Flip Burger....our family fav...

At the airport....our Traveling Circus is coming to a town near you...it was hilarious to watch us go through security.

All the kids did great, even Caroline. I was a little worried about her ear pressures going up and coming down, but I tried to time them to feedings or a paci and she didn't even know the difference.

In fact, the older 3 had more ear issues. Here they are trying to "clear their ears" Ha!

On Thursday, we had the first of many "Scullen Ping-to-the-Pong Tournaments". Mom's ping pong table was a hit! Then we went to eat at a great cafe in the Art Museum right on the water.

Checking things out on the way to the cafe.

Doin' our Longhorns in front of the museum
Thursday night some of my best friends and their moms hosted a Sip 'n See for Caroline and the entire Scullen Crew....and I am sad to say I had such a blast that not a single pic was taken by me!!! I am hoping to get a few from my mom. All the kids looked adorable and we had the best time. Here are Kate and Emma Grace with Caroline's loot from the party. The invite asked everyone to bring a favorite kids book to help start Caroline's book library. I thought that was so perfect!

Friday morning we went with my Dad to the Texas State Aquarium. It was perfect weather and we enjoyed every minute of it! Even Caroline who was napping in my sling for the first couple of hours!

We watched this amazing dolphin show. I told Kate this needed to be her new calling - dolphin trainer. She soaked up every minute of it!

Emma Grace got called down to the front to "assist" in the dolphin show. Little did she know a big dolphin splash was coming her way.

We went and ate at a great burger joint next door that was overlooking the Lexington Aircraft carrier. How cool!
Friday night my mom had about 4 families over to grill out and just hang out together. Here I am holding Evelyn, my best friend Claire's cute 4 month old girl. We just know that Caroline and Evelyn will become Bestie's too....if we can just get Caroline to wake up and enjoy the partay!

Saturday morning, we packed a lunch and headed out to the beach with my mom. On the way we had to stop and check out a fun Go-Cart place.

My crazy mom tried to pass this boy on a turn and they got tangled up a bit...

She was definitely a "pedal-to-the-medal" gal....she was so happy that she got first place and seemed to zoom pass everyone. Here she is showing Christopher where...and i quote..."This is where I really messed this kid up!" What----?!? My mom is such a riot!

Here is Caroline watching from the sidelines...aka Amelia Earhart...
Here is the crew doing their "Fire Power" impression a la Kate...
Brett and I did the final race together...I was determined to beat him (and talking a lot of trash pre-race I might add)...but alas he edged me out. Ugh! A blast.
We made it out to the beach. It was sunny and beautiful but super windy. It was also the first day of spring break....so the beach was a little "rowdy".

Enjoying our tailgate lunch...

We just love our 4 kids- such a great bunch!

On the way back in we stopped for a frolic in the fountains near the seawall. They loved it. Kate stayed in until her lips were practically blue!
Kate the dolphin!

One of my best friends, Holly, and her new baby boy Weber came down to visit with us for a minute. Weber is about 3 weeks younger than Caroline....maybe a future boyfriend....he is a cutie! Did I mention it was a little windy....notice the hair...ha!
The next day we had to pack up and come home...boooo! It was a great trip and we cannot wait to come back.

This week we took the dogs for another swim. They are such water dogs. I am trying to convince Brett that we need to put in a pool or a pond for the dogs...but not getting much luck. :)

They race out to get the stick.....

And usually both get there at the same time and then carry back their "prize" to the shore.

Here is sweet Caroline today in her St. Patrick's Day outfits. What a precious girl!
