Our Easter

First off I want to say...yipee!  I have been patiently waiting for this orchid to bloom again for ONE year!  So worth the wait!  Gina and Bob gave it to me for my birthday last year.  I wasn't sure if there was hope since it had been so long without a bloom.  Both Faith and my mom were confident it would bloom again so I held onto it, while faithfully watering it and keeping it in the window!  Love it!

Our Easter was great.  The weather in Alabama couldn't have been better.  Perfect temps and sunny!  How Glorious!

Saturday morning, Caroline had her first real Easter egg hunt.  She picked it up so quick!  Of course Jake had to help her find the eggs...ha!

Kate and Caroline "hunted" eggs forever!  She is a great older sister!

Saturday afternoon, we invited a few families over to have dinner, hang out, and have a nighttime easter egg hunt...

Here are Jay, Brett, and Emma Grace getting the food ready for the grill.  Yum!

 Me and Faith

Christopher and Jake.  They were the only 2 boys here for a little while so their main job was to get into all the "girls business"!!!  Trouble makers!!!  Lovin it!
 Emma Grace and Caroline
Some of the girls....Maguiness, Claire, and Kate
 Me and Angie
So the nighttime Easter egg hunt....
All the Dads (including Jake) went out in our backyard and hid buckets of eggs.  (A few golden eggs in there too!)
Here are all the kiddos in EG's room patiently? waiting...?  I think I counted 8?  Christopher is under there somewhere..
Instructions being given and flashlights were handed out.... and they were off.  We decided a new tradition was born!
Faith and her FAMOUS Butterfinger Cake.  I think I licked my plate!!!  It was my personal request for the night!
The Easter Bunny came Sunday morning and the kids got some fun clothes for spring!
Caroline woke up Easter morning with 103.5 degree fever.  Yikes.  It had been 10 days since her vaccines and the Dr warned me she might get a fever 10 days out.  On the money.  So...we had to change up the plans....we decided to lounge around in the morning and go to Sunday night church instead.  It all worked out great.  Her fever came down, we got to enjoy a beautiful Resurrection Day, and all go to church as a family.  What a gift He gave us!

Kate and Dad make "Resurrection Rolls" to go along with our brunch.  They were Yummy!
We of course had to continue our tradition I brought up from South Texas and growing up....Cascarones!!!  They are egg shells filled with confetti.  And the best part is you get to crack them on each other and watch the confetti fly!

Here we were before church Sunday morning.  Pictures are getting harder to take.  We set up the camera on a tripod with a timer.  Here are some funny outtakes!!!

Caroline was starting to lose her patience by the time we figured everything out.  Getting everyone looking is almost impossible...but that's okay...Here is sweet Caroline and Christopher....Love those two!

  1. What a wonderful family. All the kids, Caroline included, are looking bigger. It's great to get to peek into your life!
