We've Got Talent How About You

Image
As part of the end of the year festivites, Kate and Christopher's school have a Talent Show . This year Kate decided to sing Somewhere Over The Rainbow . She did a terrific job. I think she got a little nervous on her lines (I would too if I had the whole school plus parents watching). It has about a 30 sec intro...so bear with it. About 2 performances before Kate, this cute young 3rd grade got up and did a Christian Rap. I think it was called, " I am doing it for the Lord, and I am doing it". It was so awesome. I only started filming part way into it, but Brett and I were just cracking up. Watch until you see the entire school waving their hands. So Funny. Brett and I think this is destined for You Tube Greatness.

Memorial Day Weekend

Image
This Memorial Day weekend we spent at the Lake with our friends the Kings and Cannon's. Here is Caroline cracking herself up! Faith and Aunt Debbie in some floats. It was so warm...everyone was in the water all the time! Here is our best friend Stan doing a dive off the dock....I have got to figure out what my problem is with the sideways videos....hmmmm...I am sure it is operator error. Here is tired Sissy....taking a great nap on the boat. I am jealous. Don't worry grandmothers....she can breathe... We ended Memorial Day weekend by having our good friends, Emmie and Dave Sellers, over and we grilled some chicken and yummy veggies. I think she is ready to crash for the night. AND...not wanting to jinx myself...Caroline has slept through the night for 4 nights in a row...Wahoo! We are on a roll. Lets cross our fingers. I decided last Friday night I was not going to feed her when she woke up around 2 or 4 am which had been her routine. I got up with her, put the paci in ...

A lot of This and a lot of That

Christopher and Brett went on an adventure to Washington DC with about 80 other 5th graders! They went via charter bus (12 hrs...yikes) and visited Williamsburg, Jamestown, and D.C. They did that all in about 4 days. Brett said the pace was non-stop. Brett definitely had a handful as he was the only male chaperone that went. He got to be in charge of all the rowdy boys. Ha! I know they had the best time and Christopher will always remember this DC trip. Here is the ENTIRE crew... This was the "smaller" group that got to be with Brett the entire time. They were great kids and all nicknamed him "Chappy". Brett and I had the chance (between our crazy work/kids schedule) to run down to Destin, FL for ONE night to meet up with one of my bestie's, Jill, and her darling Coleton....so we did!!! It was wonderful and just what we needed. It felt longer than just one night because we left early in the morning and got back late the next night. Caroline loved the p...

One Big Update!

Image
Since it has been so long since I posted.... I thought I would do one big update on each member of the Scullen family to see what we have been up to! Here it goes - I am so proud of Brett - he has started running as of a few months ago and he has now run in 2 races. He is an official "runner". Here he is in his first 5K with his buddy Jay. He did great. Brett and I have been running at least 3x/week. I have had a slow transition back into being a runner. It is very humbling to say the least. I am feeling stronger now and just keep telling myself this is a slow process. Caroline, myself, and the BOB jogging stroller have had a lot of time together especially hoofing it up our massive hills in the area. Ha! I figured I didn't run while pregnant and just post baby which totals up to 7 months. Yikes! I am much happier when I have the time to run....That is the hardest part. Between working, mom duties, wife duties little is left over, but I am learning when to sn...
