S U R P R I S E ! ! !
Here at the Scullen house....we have some VERY EXCITING news to share with everyone!!!
WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
This week we are 14 weeks along and the baby is the size of a lemon!!! Our due date is December 28, 2010. Looks like it will be a Christmas to remember. We will be doing weekly updates every Tuesday as this baby gets bigger!!
Brett and I came up with an idea of how to tell the kids when we were about 12 weeks along. We are a "card-playing-family!!", so we thought we should incorporate that somehow. One night we all decided to play the game of Spoons. I wrote the message " We Are Having A Baby" on some extra cards and secretly placed them in the deck. Spoons is a fast game and it took the kids a minute to realize the "message" as the cards were flying!! It was so exciting!! Everyone was shocked and hugs were everywhere.
It was so hard for me to keep this secret from the kids. Especially Emma Grace-- she had been telling me that "it was time" for us to have a baby a lot lately (even when i was already pregnant but she didn't know!!!) I think she must have some "all-knowing powers" or something. She also had been "politely" asking me if I had been running as much lately...which I haven't...but thought that question was kind of odd. Later she told me that she had noticed my stomach wasn't as flat as normal and was just wondering why....Too funny! We laughed about that after they found out. Kids are so perceptive!!! I love it!!!
Here are the 2 new "big sisters". We are not going to find out the sex of the baby. We think it is God's way to create a truly special surprise!!!
It is so beautiful outside today...mid 80's which is cool for July....therefore...."pressure washing the driveway is a must for the boys"! I think Brett just enjoys sitting back and watching his son!!! They love doing stuff together!
Do you think our driveway needed it?!?!?! I don't even need to label the before and after photo's....
