Kate's 8th Birthday Party
This past weekend (May 7th) Kate turned 8!!!!! We helped throw a birthday party for her on Saturday. I meant to post about this on Sunday night....but, well....the week has gotten away from me so here I am on Wednesday...oh well!
She had her birthday party at the Opelika SportsPlex. They recently opened this great "splash park" along side their pool. It was so much fun!!! Kate and all of her friends were so cute!!!
Here is the Birthday Girl....the party was themed "beachy/tropical". She had about 10 friends plus some family there. The weather turned out great. We held everything outside and just set up right by the pool that way the kids could swim pop up for some snacks easy. Kate's mom, Amy, got a great cake with a palm tree on it.
Here is the "kid crew". Fun!Fun!
Emma Grace...very shy around the camera....yeah right!!! She loves the camera and the camera loves her!!
Christopher at the indoor pool. It was nice in that the indoor pool was heated and felt soooo good!
The birthday girl and some of her "best buds". They were all swimming fools.
I brought the food...I cut up some fresh pineapple and strawberries and made a yummy veggie platter. I used some "umbrella toothpicks" for the fruit". I also brought the ice cream which turned out to be more like milkshakes!!! I guess the sun was too much for our cooler. Oh well- they were still eaten. In fact I did not take home a single veggie or fruit.....Yeah to the kids for eating healthy!!
Here are the "goody bags" that I put together for each of the kids. I put an inflatable beach ball, some smelly lotion, fun lip gloss with spf, stickers, notepads and yummy candy all in a sand pail. I think they turned out pretty good!
At the splash park they had the buckets that would gradually fill up with water and then spill over surprising whomever was below! The kids LOVED it! I think they were under that most of the afternoon. Here is the water about to come down!!! Kate is on the right.
AND...splashdown!!!! They would all scream with excitement and then wait for the next one. It was fun to watch.
All in all, we had a great weekend. We stayed at our friends Jay and Angie's house while they were out of town because our house is just "not there yet"!!! They are finishing painting this week and are starting to lay the tile in the kitchen and bathrooms on Friday. This weekend we are taking the kids and heading down for a little R&R at Point Clear, AL. We are going to stay at this great resort called the Marriott Grand Hotel. It is right on the water and has a fantastic pool. It is the last weekend before school lets out so we thought we would get the summer started right! Emma Grace's Birthday is on May 21st and Christopher's is on June 14th so we are going to do a little family birthday celebration. We are in full "Birthday Mode" around here!! Loving it!!!
Will post some pics when we get back!

It looks like a fun and yummy pool party. Hope you Scullens have fun this weekend at the Marriott Grand Hotel by the pool with your cool towels.
ReplyDeleteI really loved the pictures from Kate's 8th Birthday Party. This bash turned out to be pretty enjoyable in the pool. It is interesting and very inspirational too. I also would be starting the preparations for my daughter’s birthday so thinking to hire the expert planner for the arrangements because it will be a grand party so I need some sort of help in finding one of the suitable Los Angeles venues, food and other party supply vendors.
