What a Weekend!

This past weekend was sooooo much fun!!! Brett and I are still recovering...:) On thursday night, my mom flew into Alabama and was picked up by Brett's mom and dad, Gina and Bob. They arrived at our house that night and the fun officially began. This past weekend 11 people stayed with us in the house and I loved every single second! Some people left on Saturday, and some stayed until Sunday. On Friday, Brett and I had a fun "gathering" at our house. We have been planning it for several months now and were so excited for the day to finally get here. It was a celebration of a lot of things....moving back to Opelika, finishing the house remodel, the holiday season to come, new baby, etc....basically just a bunch of reasons to celebrate with our best family and friends. I am not exactly sure how many people actually attended....Brett and I thought maybe 100-125....it was a blast!!! Since I am 34 weeks pregnant, we decided from the get-go this shindig needed to be catered. Standing up cooking for a day or two just didn't sound fun. It was in the upper 30's that night so we had a great fire pit and several heaters around our patio. Here are a bunch of pictures from that night.

Some of the delicious food - we had pork tenderloin, fish and brisket tacos, a tamale bar (with tamales imported by way of Val from South Texas no doubt!!!...), tons of appetizers, and great desserts...yum!
We also provided a great kid's table of food with fresh chicken tenders and great sliders....Here was Mr. Chuck the grill master of the burgers
Me and hubs right before our guests started arriving

All the little girls having a "party within a party!!" Party in Kate's room!!!
We rented an inflatable slide for all the kids in the backyard....money well spent!....

Here is the only picture of Christopher that I got the entire night because he stayed on the slide the ENTIRE night....needless to say he slept well!

Well...not quite sure what is going on here....Kate is keeping her eye on the adults...hmm...
We had the last of the nursery install the day of the party...it was a close one. I am still waiting on the glider to be delievered - as long as it is before Dec 28th. Here I am...pre-party primp....
Installing the curtains and one of the sweet ladies who has helped me to pick out everything. I went with a khaki, white, and pale green color combo....hoping to get some pink or blue in the mix after the baby is born. I can't wait!!!!

The next morning some sweet friends of ours hosted a great baby shower me. It was my first one and we all had a blast. I got some great "baby advice".

We had the best brunch food---I seriously put on the pounds this weekend!
It was the perfect fall day!
At the end of the shower, Brett came over to help me collect my loot!

After the shower, hubs and his dad Bob, put together my 3 strollers!!!! I love it!!!! Bob put together the "BOB running stroller". Perfect.
We had one final brunch before everyone left on Sunday...so sad!! I guess the party has to end sometime...
Here is sneak preview of the "holiday card" to come....It may be a New Year's card depending on when the baby is born...
